Red lentil – the summer plant which belongs to family of bean and considered to be the good luck and wealth symbol therefore it surely moves to a holiday table. As all bean cultures the red lentil is rich with vegetable protein, vitamins and minerals and therefore its a basis of food for vegetarians whom in India there is a lot of. Indians often mix it with rice and spices like curry, saffron etc.

It is used for food in almost over the world Americans, Canadians and Europeans add it in garnishes, vegetable stews and do of it nutritious and useful cream soups. The taste of red lentil is shaded well by onions, garlic, ginger, thyme, marjoram and the mint, a traditional bay leaf and black pepper.
